One little annoying thing I've noticed with USB
flash drives is that if I boot without a disk in
it often times I have to unload and reload the 
module to be able to mount a disk. Some bug in 
the devfs code I'm sure, because if a disk is not 
in there it doesn't create the necessary devices.
I have even had to reload devfs. I have no doubt that
I could put a disk in there and create a grub entry and
boot from it. hmmmm
