Work on a production server should go for $75-$150/hr.  High end 
specialists like the VAX consultants I know get $300.  Not that it's 
easy to get, and you have to remember that since you bill only for time 
working on the server, you're covering a bunch of non-billed time.  You 
have to be good, have good connections, and a good sales force behind 
you (you, if you can wear that hat too) to get enough work to make a 
living at it.  You provide your own benefits, typically about 35% of 
your income, minimum of about $20/hr.
There are plenty of people out there who try to undercut that.  You can 
get someone to come work on a PC for about $35/hr., but you get what 
you pay for.
