First, You need to get a pppoe program.  http://www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe/ would be a place to 
start.  Download and install and configure and run it.  If your ethernet card is connected directly 
to the DSL modem this should be all you need.  If you're planning on setting up a router I'd 
suggest taking a look at:

http://www.linux-firewall-tools.com/linux/
