Subject: How to format 1.44MB in 1.2MB drive?

My first floppy disk drive is a 1.2MB 5.25" drive. Would anyone please tell me
if there is a way to format a HD disk to 1.44MB in the drive?

I've tried "fdformat /dev/fd0H1440" but it doesn't work.
