I am getting errors when compiling linux 0.99.10. I have just installed the
libc-4.4.1, and gcc 2.4.3 and followed all the instructions enclosed with the,

I will shorten the error messages and abbreviate when necessary.

It gets to (I believe xiafs) and the reports the following:

truncate.c: In function 'trunc_direct':
" :50: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type
   " : In function 'trunc_dindirect':
" :141: warning: assignment from incom. pointer type
I get errors like this for:

inode.c:
'xiafs_truncate': line 189, arg 3 of 'trunc_indirect'
'xiafs_getblk' lines 318, 321, 326 same warning as above, but arg 2

Same errors occur in fsync.c and sock.

In sem.c:
'sys_semctl' line 149,201,272,316 buf, to, from, to may be used uninitialized
in this function [line numbers and var names are respective]

If anyone needs a dump of the error messages, please let me know. I will be
happy to forward them to you.

Is there something I need to do before compiling the kernel?

ANy help would be greatly appreciated!
Eric
