I'd guess that the way to approach this question would be to ask
if there are any establishments, commercial or academic, that have
Linux boxes working as an integral part of their computing facili-
ties, and which have a steady stream of users. If so, then these
are the folks who you should put the question to: Does Linux crash
or show various system instabilities, or can it, like SCO Unix, Sun
OS, etc., be expected to run with very little diagnostic or other
maintenance.

The idea is to filter out people who have actually used Linux in the
sort of environment you're talking about, and who would be sensitive
to system maintenance problems. I expect that such people would be
rare. If they exist, let's invite them to speak up!
