Hi, I am posting this for a friend who does not have
access to the news. He has installed linux on a 486 machine (Gateway
2000), and all is fine.
However, he is trying to compile some program, and
found that he needs liby.a . This library exists on
most UNIX systems, but he could not find it for linux. Did anyone
compile this library, or would anyone know where he can find it?

Since Ed does not have news access, you can email your answers
