Subject: ANONUNCE: ckermit5A(188) & mawk 1.1.2 binaries at tsx-11
Date: Sat, 12 Dec 1992 05:30:16 GMT

Hi folks.
I've uploaded the following to tsx-11.mit.edu:

     ckermit5A.188.tar.Z
     mawk1.1.2bin.tar.Z

Both were linked with jump table 4.1.

I built C-Kermit with the linuxgcc2net target, so hopefully the telnet &
ping commands will work, but I don't have the means to test them just
now. I'd appreciate if someone could try them and make their results
known. The network support only adds 8k to the binary, though, and it
doesn't bother anything else, so I didn't see much reason to make a
seperate version without it.

mawk is another implementation of awk. It conforms to the Posix 1003.2
(draft 11.2) definition, with a few extensions, and it's fairly small
and quick. I used it for a long time under msdos, and I like it alot
(mawk, not msdos :-)). The source code for mawk can be had by anonymous
ftp from oxy.edu, in the /public directory. I'm including a patch for
the (few) changes I made to compile it under linux. I've also sent it
off to the author, so it should be included in the next release.

    -Hutch
