Subject: Cache & X-window Conflict
Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1992 03:37:45 GMT

Hi Linuxers!
I had hard time in using mouse in X-window since the cursor was too
easily freezed. The hot key combo(^Alt<-) didn't work either.
Now I have found which one is the culprit.
64k builtin external cache!
After switching off the cache, Now I have no problem in using my mouse.

My computer: Gateway2000 386DX with 387.
             Diamond Speedstar VGA version 3.23
             4Mbytes RAM.

Now I'm faced a new problem.
Without the cache, the DOS and Window applications are running too slowly.
I have heard there is a utility program that switches on/off
cache after booting. Any suggestion?

PLS send me an e-mail to seody@eecs.nwu.edu

Thank you in advance.
