Subject: status of QIC-80?

I recently downloaded the alpha QIC-80 driver from tsx-11. I had no
idea what I was getting myself into. Has anyone gotten linux to talk
to QIC-80 format tape drives? Specifically the Colorado Jumbo 250.
Is there a mailing list I should read? My linux system has become far
too large to feasably backup onto floppies. And I know enough about
sys-admin to be afraid of not making backups. Any info would be
appreciated.
