If someone can pick it up I will print them at kinkos by OPCC. I thought some cable companies were already sending HDTV signal. I see ads all the time for some satellite provider saying all of their channels are in HDTV format (I've got a box of salt handy for that claim), as opposed to their cable competitors who only provide a few channels in HDTV. I'm not sure what all the hubbub is about anyway. It's not like the human eye has that kind of resolution where it's going to amount to a hill of beans.

So, do you get the HDTV signal from the air or can you get it from your cable connection? What is the total cost of the card? The HD-3000 are shipping November 8th and they are taking preorders. No broadcast flag and built specifically for Linux. http://www.pchdtv.com/ You get about $9.89 off each card if you order 5 or more. Anyone else want to preorder with me and get the $10 discount? Thanks. -Jeff

Thanks, but I'm not launching it from my own crontab and don't think it's a good idea to mess with the system crontab. For some reason my brain drew a blank on the redirect pipe to add to my script to track the progress. You could modify the daily entry (or temporarily mv your script to /etc/cron.hourly) as part of your debugging process. I have to believe the script is being kicked off by cron but, as someone else has noted, may have a PATH problem or other environmental variable problem of some sort. Or, just to make sure, the ID that your blacklist script runs under does have permission to update the blacklist hold file, right? Cron

Ok, I added my blacklist script to the /etc/cron.daily subdirectory. I gave it the same ownership and rights as the other scripts in there. I am using the same shell to execute it. But it is not running, or if it is it is not updating the blacklist hold file. If I run it manually it works. I figured that since I was making it a "system" cron job that simply placing it in the directory would activate it. Apparently that isn't the case. I know I can create a root cronjob to do this, but I really wanted it to be part of the base system. What am I doing wrong? Brian Densmore
